Depeche Mode: Precious

Okay mod children of the 80's, be prepared to get sucked back to the time of trechcoats and black nail polish. Somebody leaked out a pre-production verion of Depeche Mode's latest single, Precious. It sounds good, hallmarks back to their early music. Ah, my days in steel-toe boots...

The video got pulled but i found the extended remix online.

Moving to a new town? Ajinomoto can help.

Just when you thought you was getting lucky. I never thought that moving to a new town filled with so many good looking women could be so stressful. You can always use some Ajinomoto to enhance the flavor. There could be other reasons too, right?

Coke doing the Warcraft thing in China

In the ongoing battle between good vs. evil, Coke vs. Pepsi, we have S.H.E. vs. the Orc's. So Ricky sent me this. i think its the singing pop trio S.H.E. from Taiwan doing a Coke / World of Warcraft promo commercial. The 3 girls do a number on their record producer. Dang, too bad we don't have wonder babes like them here in SF.

Music Review

Junior Boys "Last Exit"

What kind of music is this? i'm not sure but its electronic, sounds kinda alternative, and its got tracks with a hip-hop syncopated beat. cool, its goin' off, and i can't stop listening to this CD. Some call it electro-pop. Tracks like "High Come Down" break down the beats with an interesting dichotomy of waify vocals and electronic airyness. "Neon Rider" drives the tempo much like Boards of Canada with a similar ambient, analog atmosphere. The bass be bumping in the truck man! I need to get a new car, aw thats another subject. Essential ordie listening for the next month or so.

Fanny Pack "See You Next Tuesday"

Its all about booty baby! Fanny Pack been making bass booty music since 2003 with their first album "So Stylistic" with famous tracks like "Camel Toe" and "Hey Mami". This second album is showing their music is not just about the novelty. Yeah its ghetto, yea its got big bass, its got all the attitude. "You Gotta Know" has all the elements that made us just get down to booty back in the late 80's. Fanny Pack gots the beats we love so much and keeps it nostalgic and fun but manages to keep it real. Red Balls gives you wings!

As One featuring Kirk Degiorgio "Elegant Systems"

Degiorgio's music just kinda crept up on me. I got his older album "21st Century Soul" awhile back, listened to it a couple times and forgot about it. Then i came across a review of his "Out Of The Darkness" album and they were giving it rave reviews. So i sampled that album and revisited the one that was collecting dust on my CD shelf. Dang, its good. This always happens to me, like I buy some music and forget that I have it or i find a jewel in an album i thought was crap. "Elegant Systems" does not disappoint, its got the odd flowing sounds that come together with Degiorgio's artful skill to create brilliant electonic dance music that just drives and evolves. The track "Rumors" has the quintessential Degiorgio sound that I've grown to love but its "Luca's smile" that show his mastery of this type of electronica; its calm and warm, yet flowing. Yeah, chill man, its chill. I need a vacation. Anybody find the latest John Beltran album, the Exceptional Records one? i can't find it.

Woody iPod

New edition iPod released, like the old school jimmyz' woody. This is mahogony man! Rich wood grain. Naw actually, this guy made his own custom wood bezel. This takes some skills, its even got a slick laquered finish, dope!
